They did'nt mention it on CNN, but...i'll tell you why his wife and two kids kissed him and fucked off right away...

It's called "Death Threaths" my friend and the C.I.A. is takin' it seriously...

Ok, well this is where we differ then. If I had been Bill, Hillary would have never made it to the Whitehouse. I would have divorced her sometime between super Tuesday 1992 and January 20th 1993. Then I would have played the field while in the oval office. The two times I have been single, I've been a womanizing letch. Both times I've been married, however, (including currently) I've been loyal. Being from the 60's I believe in free love, but, a promise is a promise you know.

sure, I understand that part -- they had a serious WALL of bulletproof glass around him, for Pete's sake. It was enough to protect him, but not his family or his running mate? Sorry, that doesn't pass the smell test. Everything about his campaign and everything about his acceptance speeches (both for the nomination AND the election) was methodically planned to the nth degree. This guy has taken the 'messiah' moniker and run with it. It's been all too obvious. Be very wary of this man...

Dammit, you're right again.

I'm not married at the moment but I guess I'm in a "commited relationship". I know I'm commited 'cuz I've turned down several explicit offers.

If I wuz Prez though it would be different. Hooyah, one trailer park chick under the desk? Hell, I'd have a staircase leadin' down to the basement under my desk, that way they could take turns!

C'mon, that's just plain dumb. If you knew there was a bullet with your name on it out there would you put your family in harm's way? That doesn't pass the "smell test".

It probably isn't his call, anyway. It's simple math, less people in the line of fire are easier to protect, that's the Secret Service's decision. As for the rest... no comment.

Like it or not the man is the President Elect.

Yep. And he's got my support regardless of whether I'm pre-disposed to believe the odds are against him and us from the get go. I'm afraid the office of the president of the United States has a great potential that has seldom been lived up to by it's holders. Probably because they've all been human beings.

what's 'plain dumb'? read my question again: "they had a serious WALL of bulletproof glass around him, for Pete's sake. It was enough to protect him, but not his family or his running mate?"

You likely are correct in saying that it probably wasn't his call. However, I prefer to live my life questioning things that seems questionable.

Here's the thing: Who expected zealots to use commercial aircraft as weapons? There are only so many scenarios that can be anticipated. Just when any of us think we have the answers... it turns out we don't.

As far as BO's ethnicity, this is what I read.

"Mr. Obama is 50% Caucasian, that from his mother. What those who want Mr. Obama to write history by becoming "America's first African-American president" ignore is that his father was ethnically Arabic, with only 1 relative ethnically African Negro - a maternal great-grandparent (Sen. Obama's great-great grandparent, thus the 6.25% ethnic contribution to the senator's ethnic composition.).

That means that Mr. Obama is 50% Caucasian from his mother's side. He is 43.75% Arabic, and 6.25% African Negro from his father's side."

Let's focus on unity... not difference, and the world will most likely be a better place...

We are all mutts anyway, no?...

I do believe "racial purity" is a dead end...and only breeds hatred and violence...

The guy could be 111% Arab and my opinion of him woul'nt change one iota.

Arabs are not all Integrist Bombers...

Anyone who disagree is welcome to wait for me after school...   8) :D

Source? Rush Limbaugh? Bill O'Reilly? Faux News?

I find it quite interesting that in the recent past, if a person had "one drop" of African American blood they were considered Black. Now when the tables are turned the requirement has somehow changed to 100%.

Even if that's correct... so what?!

This is our (U.S. Citizens) to put down our differences and to present a positive example to the world. Let's not blow it. This from me and I'm the goddam Negativity Poster Boy!

The part that has me laughin' my ass off is that I've nearly gotten my ass kicked on numerous occaisons by misc. "patriotic" tweakers, drunks and multi-substance abusers who have nuthin' goin' on besides sympathy for their Cowboy in Chief. J.P. is exactly correct, asking the important questions is a good thing. Blindly following the leader is what totalitarianism is all about. Yeah I know, I also said I'm all for dictatorship... and later validated that by saying I don't mind bein' a hypocrite. Hell, "If ya can't beat 'em... join 'em!"

The part that makes me nauseous about the last eight years is resurgence of bigotry and the attenuation of First Ammendment rights. There's an ever-present undercurrent of bigotry, it's just that the focus has shifted to the designated ("n" word) du jour. It's like Carlos Mencia said about Achmed, "Tag... you're it!" So the Arabs are our new designated whipping boys. African-Americans have finally been assimilated as bein' part of "Us" while Arab-anythings are across our self-imposed fence as "Them". The mechanism of demonization then kicks into gear, we're angels, they're devils and that's all there is to it.

Too bad I'm a Devil's Advocate...

So... the old bigotry just won't do. Say that like Obama, "just won't do." The old bigots hate what they hate but the U.S. truly is a cultural melting pot. The only way to make the old bigotry work is to re-define "African" as "Arab" then kick demonization into gear. It's not even nominally honest but such are the politics of hate.

Hey I just posted that because everyone is saying we finally elected a black man, so technically that is incorrect even if he looks half black.

I don't think race played a part in this election as far as the white vote went.
I do believe that a lot of black people voted for him simply because he was black.

I am not a bigot!!! I have friends from many different ethnicity's.

BO election was a statement that everybody was just plain fed up with Bush.
And McCain was just too close to the Bush administration.

This is definitely a change, I wish him well and I hope that he can steer this country in a good direction.

But I will say this, if BO tries to move this country into a socialistic nation I will oppose that.

Nuthin' personal! I believe you.

Hell, I'm not a bigot. I dislike everyone equally!

I think race did play a big part. Predominantly white New England went roughly 60/40 in Obama's favor while racially mixed states in the Old South went 60/40 the other way. I'm not exactly sure what that means but I can draw my own conclusions. Whether my conclusions are valid or not is open to debate.

I wish the ticket was Obama/Clinton so we could get a black guy and a babe in the same vote. But... I don't like Hillary. I don't like Sarah Palin, either. OMG! I'm a misogynist!

I know people who voted for McCain because he's white. Ignorance goes both ways.

Also, Bush said he had a mandate to extend the war on terror after his reelection in '04...Since Obama just captured a majority of the vote, doesn't HE have a mandate for socialism (or at least more socialist programs)?

I wonder what he'll be able to do given the new-found powers granted to presidents by the Patriot Act...

You Republicans are getting ready to see why the Patriot Act isn't a good thing. And you brought it on yourselves.
