Guys take look at this clip.

Am I right in assuming that little plug gizmo is being used to do the same thing as clipping off the earth pin of the 3 pin supply line.
With this trick the Line 6 amp will rely on the signal ground of the instrument cable connection through to AB box to the Taylor amp as return path for any fault current in the Line 6?
If so this is a potentially lethal practice, especially in countries with supply voltages over 230V

Re: Lethal?
I wonder why he didn't simply plug both amps in to a power strip then plug that in.
He said the two amps were plugged into two different outlets that may not be on the same ac circuit.
It does seem as if it could be dangerous although with the ground lift adapter the amp is probably polarized properly where as the the neutral of the of the amp is correct so not much chance of a shock.
Since proper polarity is observed the chassis is not hot.
Not like the old amps with the ground switch that could put the hot leg to the chassis thereby making the chassis hot and your guitar ground on the hot side.

Re: Lethal?
I bet the user manual for that Line6 says the same thing...NEVER, UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES, remove the ground pin from the plug or use any device which accomplishes the same thing.

Here are a couple good videos concerning grounding for those that don't understand shielding and grounding.

You can build your own ground loop breaker, which will still maintain a safety ground, using the attached diagram. If you don't want to build it yourself, you can buy the Ebtech HumX ground loop breaker.
