Nice cabs and amp Jim, however what does a super lead and 2 marshall style 412s have to do with a wreck?

Let me guess it's a trainwreck in marshall clothing lol

Please tell me those are vintage and not the reissue...

Nah, sorry gents. There wasn't a forum that made sense to post a big old stack in so I chose the Wreck forum to post in. If there was a sub forum for "Everything but T & D..." then I'd have posted it there.

And sorry...no... the 71 Super Lead is vintage, the two cabs I just made/wrapped/dialed in yesterday with that EC True-Pinstripe cloth. Some folks wanted to see a tall bottom cab (ala Jimi) so I had my cab guy make one, and I wrapped and clothed it yesterday. So the cabs aren't vintage, if they were they'd be worth a small fortune.

So sorry to disappoint you with this misleading post, just a gratuitous stack shot pic.

Guess I could go put my Koncorde clone on top of it...maybe I'll do that and post that pic instead.

And thats probably why we go around saying huh all the time now besides the freaking recurrent tinnitus. But I still have a stack just not Marshall.

This goes with what Jim posted of his Marshall amp and speakers which are very nice.

I know this is a Dumble/Trainwreck site but could be have a section for other amps rather than use technical section for our conversations?

Maybe we can get one of the mods to move it to the Garage talk area and continue it on there 8)

Thanks Chad! That's me on the drum kit in the bottom pic. I was 19 or 20 at the time

Very nice cabs.. a 71 head with stripe cabs? Should of had a plexi on those cabs.. :) I don't think i have any pics of some of my stuff. the most i played out with was a stack and 1/2 or really 3 halfs.. three heads.

i have a 68 slant cab, and an early 70s slant cab.

I've got a 68 slant, two 71 straights, and a few more tucked away in storage. These replica cabs are something I'm testing the waters with. Figured someone might want them. The slant didn't make it through the day before it was purchased, but I'm keeping the tall bottom for a bit to see how it sounds compared to a regular bottom with the same speakers.

Yeah, if I had the $$$ for a 68 Plexi...but I don't. I happened onto the 71 by accident. Someone on the PP forum referenced an eBay auction. The seller had this for $899 BIN with a blown PT, but the first bid took that out. I contacted him and told him I'd take it for the BIN and pay the shipping. He agreed, pulled the auction and did a great job of packing it.

Dave Friedman here in LA had a 70 PT to put in it, so we worked out a deal and he tuned it up, retrofitted it with some NOS parts it needed to bring it back to stock, put in some Tesla EL 34's, some NOS preamp tubes I supplied, and then he biased it up and let it rip through the cab & speakers I made for him.

I've fired this amp up once. It's a beast...period. Looking forward to dropping some old Celestions in those two cabs this weekend (purely to make sure they're solid, of course!) and twisting all the knobs to the right.

I predict the cops will be at my door in about 8 nanoseconds...or less.
