Thanks for the encouragement, I appreciate that. Currently, I need to look for standoffs/spacers, it a hassle.

Those silver face amps look in great condition to the amp I have to work on.

On picture Bassman looks better than it is...amp behind is 68 Custom Princeton Reverb - new one.
Well ,bassman’s outside is ok for 45 years old amp, normal dont have sound at all, bass channel sound fenomenal but not loud....(with telecaster).

Your blue boards are so nice!

I'm hoping to finish it this week. The unloaded voltage on the main node is 462vdc. I think this is a bit low and the voltage will sag when all the valves are fitted to the amp. I'm wondering if I'm looking at a power transformer with issues.

I still have to run it and test it, but it is going and it seems fairly loud. The rail voltage was lower than I expected. In standby it is 462VDC and 445VDC when operating without signal.

Thanks for the compliment on the rebuild, good to hear some positive comments. The cab is the next part. I'm thinking of a baby blue tolex. I saw a Princeton in that finish that looked great.

I decided not to use the master volume on the amp. Experimenting with the pre P.I. master years ago I found they do have an impact upon the timbre of the amp. I thought a bass amp won't need a presence control but a resonance control could be handy.

I decided to use a 0.0047uF cap and a 10K pot (after experimenting with a few values.) it give a good bass boost without the bass sounding flabby.

I had thought of putting a MOSFET follower in the amp, but it does pretty tight even when it is distorting slightly. I may do it in the future, but so far the amp works well.

I'll post a picture of it in it's cab when it is finished.
Yours Sincerely

Pretty much in the home straight with this one. I put a resonance control in, I found that a 10K pot and a 022uF cap worked best. The silver faced panels are only held to the front face by the bass channel input jacks, the screws for the bright/bass switches and the master volume (resonance in my amp). The end of the panel didn't lie flat against the front panel, so I'm helping it with some liquid nails.

The cab is finished too.

I fall into Aiken view of amp colour. He was doing custom colours free and black was extra.

You could try massage it (very*) gently as well...
(* urge is your ennemy at that point)

... nice color, by the way. I look forward to looking at pictures of the outcome, now...

I'm very happy with how the cab turned out.

The amp is sounding good too.

I noticed there are silver faced amps with a washer around the pilot light. I think I prefer the look of the glued panel better.

A matching speaker cab would be cool.
