Black Face Princeton Reverb
Kind of a junk drawer project which was originally a Weber kit, then became a couple of other amps. My goal is to use what I have on hand (no shopping!), so the components are mix and match.
Weber chassis, PT (W025130), and Reverb Tranny (W022921). Allen OT (TO22).
Pretty much stock circuit except for the addition of bias points and isolated pots and jacks. Changed the layout a bit.
Still working on which caps to use for the three that are missing (.022, .01, .01).
I'll take some more focused shots when I'm a little farther along.

Re: Black Face Princeton Reverb
Man there are a lot of wires in these things.
Fired up without a hitch, and is quiet as a mouse. Tremelo and reverb could be toned down a notch, but sound good at low settings.
Nothing ground breaking here, just a stock BFPR with a few tweaks to layout and grounding. Sounds good through the Celestion Blue. I'll try some other speakers when I have more time. I'll post the initial voltages tomorrow.
Now it's on to the 5b6, then a #102.

Yeah it is very nice! So complex!
Signatures have a 255 character limit that I could abuse, but I am not Cecil B. DeMille.
Re: Black Face Princeton Reverb
But this one has a silver face so will have to change the thread title, right

Nice build.
I just started a similar build.
I see a few runs of shielded leads.
And the color coded heat shrink on the ends of your leads...
Nice attention to details.
Congrats on a outstanding "on hand" build

I didn't put in the bias test points because I only had one terminal. I'll add it later to make biasing easier. I'll also swap out the 50K bias pot for one that can be adjusted both inside and outside the chassis, for the same reason.
Funny Mark. I guess it is a silver face, or maybe a transitional face, and may end up a plastic face, or a wooden face.
I'm enjoying this amp. It has some nice tones and more clarity and less shot noise than I was expecting with the Allen Bradleys. The deep surf reverb is a riot when cranked, but actually usable.
It has a Weber WU4GB SS rectifier, also because I couldn't find a 5U4GB (I thought I had one somewhere). I'll get the tube at some point to see if there is much difference.
Thanks for the comments.
Voltages will follow (left the piece of parer at the shop... again)

Re: Black Face Princeton Reverb
It's funny how people post about how noisy carbon comp resistors are but I've found them to be a sweetener in both Marshall and Fender circuits.
I might have to stock up on more NOS CC from Apexjr.

Voltages...
V1.) pin 1. 150V, Pin 6. 153V
V2.) pin 1. and 6. 339V
V3.) pin 1. and 6. 155V
V4.) pin 1. 158-266ish, pin 6. 177V, pin 7. 16V, pin 8. 46V
350V on 6V6 plates.
Bias set at 21mv/-35V on pin 5
B+, 351, 343, 307
I've been running my cassette player through it most of my work day, so it can cook . The voltages may be way different by now. I'll go back in in a day or two and check.
It has a lovely compression when I play the Howard Roberts Fusion through it.
Because it has a 22 Watt OT, I won't crank it till I change the speaker. The Blue is probably OK, but I don't want to risk it.

Re: Black Face Princeton Reverb
very nice build!I'm impressed
Re: Black Face Princeton Reverb
Sweet! I built one just like it, except I added a mid pot. It makes it an incredibly variable amp, I just love it.
