Amplifier Power Regulator or Voltage Regulator question

Anybody use and recommend power regulators that'll manage
to lower typical 120v power from home wall circuit outputs
or bar/club/hall power outputs?

I'd like to get my vintage amps' power down to the 110v
that they are designed for. Also, a quality regulator
that I can visually see the settings.

I have two rackmount Furman six plug line conditioners, but I believe
they are more for surge, spike and brown-out management
power conditioners ~ rather than voltage regulators.

Any good product recommendations you like?

Hi, Rock! Thanks.
I am looking for a device that will sit between a wall power source
and my amplifier(s). Similar to a pedal footswitch, but only with
controls to lower are raise the input voltage for my vintage amps.

Just want to protect the electronic components better.
And, know that I am doing it.

I have seen some manufacturers like APC, Furman or others that have a real time conditioner. I found one once upon a time that would allow you to set the voltage within a given range. It would be great for those older vintage amps.

There are other ways, but I think a simple variac with a voltage meter will suit your needs.
As long as it has the current capabilities.

Bob S. Thanks. Yes. A variac type device with a voltage meter display
to accurately discern the current output voltage . . . . . and a manual variable
voltage control from 100v to 130v is perfect for me.

I'd a long discussion with a variac manufacturer/reseller today.
Apparently, there's more to consider regarding "amp output" from variacs
and voltage regulators; along with the line voltage output towards
both the vintage amplifier and towards the variac.

Something like a Furman that doesn't just condition but also lets you vary and set a regulated voltage will cost mucho big bucks and weigh mucho too. I never tried it but think all you need is that link to Geofex, better even than a Variac which don't weigh little either and can be accidentally bumped to like 140V.

Thanks. I realized I have three Furmans, expensive ones.
But, one needs to add a variac type device after the Furmans
and before any devices receive dirty voltage/wattage/amperage.
Just want to get something soon. The four I'm looking at are
all between $200 and $300. I might get a heavy duty variac
for my home on a permanent basis for all expensive electronic devices;
and a lighter variac for travel and gigs.

I won't worry about someone turning the voltage up, as I don't worry
about someone throwing drinks on my amps, etc. Things happen.

What do you consider tje Amp Maniac and the Tone Preserver?
Are they variacs?
They are light.


I noticed a 30 pound variac for home voltage regulation
that would be perfect for valuable home equipment.
No biggie about the weight, as it would stay in my music room.

But, I want another lighter variac type to take to practice
or an event. Strongly thinking about the Amp Maniac.
But, still investigating and very interested at all the great comments.
