Fender sweet spot trick. Hbamp Fender RI mod.

Post by hbamp »

Just one switch away from the Mark Knopfler Fender BF sweet spot.
Just five minutes to get that sweet MK sound. Even better with the mods on Ted Webers site to change your RI to a real Blackface. Just perfect with a EV 12L and better OT. Try it first with a alligator clip cable.

Looks like the switch would be connecting LFO signal to the reverb recover stage output.

Happend by accident. Used an old Ampeg footswitch on a RI and the voodoo was there. It's amazing how things happen. Can't stop playing anymore so I didn't figured out how it realy works yet. Old broken stereo jack and solder joints touched each other. Amazing was the amp changed completely from a stiff sounding RI in to a Sweet Angel.

Look at the pics, thats all. Nothing more nothing less. you can switch from Original reverb to a mutch more usefull and better sounding reverb and amp. I think Martin is right about what happens. Only, there must be more that's the Voodoo.

Looks like the bias to the reverb recovery grid is being altered. Huh, might be a happy accident, but it disobeys the 'nothing is for free' rule. No time to think much about that while at work.

Using the reverb stage as a booster like rjguitars does with his mod?

Not boosting anything. It's like you have a sweet switch. Makes the amp reacting a lot better, more natural. You will love it just as I do.

Isn't the MK sound the Strat btwn pickups sound (ugh, but some peeps can make it work). Maybe something out of phase is going on?
