5e5 pro power transformer

Post by davebolden44 »

Just curious which power transformer I should get to build a stock 5e5 pro. Not 5e5-A. I cant seem to find much information on the original specs or cross references. I have seen somewhere it being said that it is the same as a tweed bassman transformer. Any advice appreciated.

The Fender schematic has no transformer number, but it does have voltages: 395V B+, 26V on the 250Ω cathode resistor for 104mA, add another 6mA for the preamp tubes. Heaters need 2.7A. A 5U4 rectifier needs 5V at 3A. The Tweed Bassman has ~50V higher plate voltage, and a 5AR4. Maybe this Bandmaster PT would be a close match: [Oops, wrong data sheet... Hammond 290DX]

Maybe meant an earlier tweed Bassman, eg 5B6 https://el34world.com/charts/Schematics ... _schem.pdf

I am not seeing a 5v filament winding for the 5u4 on that one martin
