Pro Reverb rear panel = Super Reverb rear panel?

Post by fazeka »

Hi all,

I have a question on the chassis size of a 1973 Pro Reverb. More specifically, about the rear panel dimensions/holes.

Someone drilled additional holes into my Pro Reverb's rear black aluminum panel (before I acquired it, actually!). I'm wondering if a BF/early SF Super Reverb rear black aluminum panel will line up exactly with the existing factory holes of the Pro Reverb chassis? If it does, at least I'll be able to hide the holes drilled into that poor chassis.

Thanks!

It's hard to say, the SR chassis is at least 1.5" less in width then the PR chassis.

I would contact a source that offers or can make repro planel's and ask them.

Here are some quick measurements of the back panel on my '69 Super Reverb.

The back panel is approx. 13-15/16" long

All of the following measurements are from the left side to the approximate center of the hole:
Ground Toggle: 3/4"
Fuse: 2-3/4"
"On" toggle: 4-5/16"
"Stdby" toggle: 5-5/16"
Speaker Jack: 6-5/8"
Aux Jack: 7-9/16"
Vib Pedal jack: 10-3/16"
Rev Pedal, Rev. in, and Rev out jacks are spaced 1" apart.

Hope this helps.

Would your back panel by chance have one fairly large (3/4" or so) extra hole in it?

I'm kind of surprised that nobody has started up a little enterprise of making replica back panels for various Fenders. I'd be up for a replacement back for my '63 Tremolux, myself. It has three holes in it that should not be there. And it's a brownface type panel, too.
