I do real silkscreening myself, as I make restoration grade front and back panels for JMP and JTM era vintage Marshalls.
But what I need to start is the artwork to be silk screened. Very good quality photographs of the original panel, with measurements, are the absolute minimum to get started with.
Then it takes some as yet undetermined amount of time to generate the artwork in Adobe Illustrator. When I know it's getting close, I print to transparency and then compare the transparency to an original silk screened chassis, if one is available. I then make the small adjustments to complete the replicated artwork and, upon approval, then send it out to the company that actually makes the screens for me.
Then I have to get the correct ink colors.
Then I have to come up with a method to hold the chassis in position for screening.
For a one-off this is a 500 dollar job.
