Fender Dual Showman with Showman output transformer

Post by neskor »

Hi.
I have Blackface Dual Showman from 1966 with Dual Showman output transformer 022897. I'm not sure is this originaly there or somebody replace that.
Shoud I also change the last resistor in NFB loop?
I measured 100R as it shoul be in Dual Showman, but with Showman output transformer should I change to stock 47R?
Is this an important thing or I can leave it like that.
Thanks!

It’s fine to leave it as is. There’s a bit more negative feedback, leading to a tighter response.

You will very likely never play it loud enough to hear the slight difference that it will make.

Where are you getting info on the 022897 ? I'm not finding that number on any Showman or Twin schematic. The "Showman Amp" or "Single Showman" should have an 8 Ohm output while the "Dual Showman" should have a 4 Ohm output.
