Deluxe Reverb Build

I finished building my Deluxe Reverb using MM Layout. It turned out better than I hoped. Big Thanks to Martin for his work on these layouts and my questions. Amp is very quiet and the only trouble I had was V5 tremolo ticking. I tried the Fender-Service-Bulletin-9 .01uf cap but still did not fix it. Once I swapped the JJ 12ax7 in v5 for a better tube (TAD) 7025 fixed it.

At first I was uneasy if I could handle this project but now that is behind me I think my next build will be a Princeton.

Looks great! Glad it turned out well. See if you can find a doghouse cover for the filters.

What rectifier are you using, and what did you get for B+ voltage?

I have a doghouse board cover from Mojotone installed. When i took that pic I was still wiring. The mojo cover is plain steel not anodized.
I'm using a EH 5U4GB Rectifier

My voltages are:
A B+1 397vdc
B B+2 394.2vdc
C B+3 316.2vdc
D B+4 265.2vdc

Using the three test jacks in back with my DMM black inserted in the black test jack the red test jacks read
30.8mV
31.9mV

Total Power in watts on Tung Sol 6V6GT tubes.
397 * .0308 = 12.23w with the bias pot fully CW
397 * .0319 = 12.66w with the bias pot fully CW

The B+ is good. I would bring the idle current down a bit, to say 8.4W (70%) or even 7.8W (65%) of 12W. That should make actual plate dissipation (without screen current) 60-65%.

After re-biasing these are my readings

My voltages are:
A B+1 411vdc
B B+2 408vdc
C B+3 327.7vdc
D B+4 274.5vdc

This time I took the plate voltage reading from 6V6 pin3 which is 409vdc and the red test jacks
19.2mV
19.6mV

Total Power in watts on Tung Sol 6V6GT tubes.
409 * .0192 = 7.85w
409 * .0196 = 8.02w

I have not put on a scope yet to see the pulses and have not touched the balancing PI pot

Looks like you handled that project just fine! Looks nice!

And nice picture of the front panel showing where the dang wires for the tremolo pots get routed! For some reason it is almost impossible to find a good shot of that.

Thanks Mike, When I have it out of the cabinet I will have to take some clearer pics of the pots and post. My camera has a habit of blurring the background. I have not found the right setting in the camera yet.

Thanks, Martin put a lot of thought into all the extra features on this amp layout. I just had to build one.

Yes, in fact I had already started to mark up a PR layout with revised grounding and the D-style phase inverter mod from the Tweedle Dee.

No plans to build a Princeton at the present time, just exploring the possibilities.
