.1 uf 200V cap substitute? Deluxe reverb

Post by BobP »

Hi all, I have a pull-boost deluxe reverb I have been working on. So far I have replaced the filter caps, tone, grid, and cathode caps. Fixed some loose heater wires and replaced the power tubes with proper 6V6’s, as it had 6L6’s. Biased to about 19ma plate current and everything seems groovy.

I am going to replace the last few caps on the board, and I see the .1 200V at the PI. Wondering about a suitable replacement. I see a couple different options from Sprague, 418 and 715 series. Much pricier than the 600 v options but I’m only buying one, haha.

Also, I haven’t yet replaced the bias cap, but I did buy a 100 uf/ 100 v Sprague for it, would that be acceptable? Spec is 80 uf/75v., currently has a 70/100v which I’m sure is stock.

And finally, the bias diode. I bought a 5408 but maybe that’s overkill? If it’s not broke don’t fix it? Suitable replacements?

Thanks

I've never seen that cap fail. Any .1 @200V (or higher) will work just fine.
