Hendrix' Marshall
Aka the Dickinson amp that Marshall used to create their JH tribute. When Dickinson was first promoting it, he put up detailed gut shots. He quickly took these down when Marshall showed interest. But not before I grabbed them.
I'm pretty sure this is the amp used at Monterey.
You may want to download these in case we get a takedown notice. Some original notes:
"Could you tell me the value of the small flat R/S signal caps on the Hendrix amp? Thanks.
They are both 500pF. Normally the tone stack cap is 250pf, These are the only two non standard circuit parts in this amp (there are a couple of other parts replaced, but with same part value), so the magic mojo is largely in the design of the amp itself along with what's in the player's head and hands!
It's based around 4 KT66's running 575V on the plates, and is the same loudness as any JTM100 with a channel bright cap."
This doesn't jive with other comments that the only change was the slope resistor from 56k to 33k.

Here's a gut shot of Marshall's recreation:

Re: Hendrix' Marshall
I would take any modifications to the original circuit with a grain of salt. We don't know if these were made by Hendrix' amp tech, or by someone who subsequently owned the amp.

If I was mod I would increase your forum mojo by +100 points. Supercool.
I build and repair tube amps. http://amps.monkeymatic.com

Re: Hendrix' Marshall
The Monterey amp! That's some sweet amp porn. All info stashed for the day I loose my mind and build a 100W amp.
You are a god. Made my day. Thanks

Lefty that's very very cool. Thanks for posting that. I'm a huge Hendrix freak, and this is especially interesting to me.
Don't you boys know any NICE songs?
Re: Hendrix' Marshall
BTW I reckon that new build is the Marshall Hendrix reissue? If so, it's a terrific build, best work they've ever done. They kept to the wire colors, someone cared.
Re: Hendrix' Marshall
Question: the 1500 grid stoppers are on just one of each pair, this looks the case in the orig picts and indicated on the orig layout and schematic. Carries through to the reissue build and schematic. It's not going to affect much of anything but just wondering.

Yeah I saw that too and what the heck?
Also what about a lower voltage version as today's KT66 won't handle that kinda voltage will they? I run a pair in a Rockster build at 380V. Would that work for 4 of them?
Thanks...

In theory, theory is the same as practice. In practice it's different.
