Sometimes the original sockets need to be replaced.... oofta!

Aw heck, just grind it all out with a Dremel tool and a Dential bit and patch it with clay type epoxy!
Had to do that once for a big name player on a Sunday afternoon who had to ,had to ,had to use only his amp to record 15 minutes of clean tracks with!!
I was fresh out of octal sockets , ho well made great money on the fix anyway!

Why not just solder the new tubes in?

Those are supernice pulls, Carl. Sell them on eBay.
