Re: Hot Rod Plexi 100w number four
Thanks guys I don't know how to make my builds as pretty as some I see posted on TAG. Each time I strive to do better but it doesn't happen.
Re: Hot Rod Plexi 100w number four
I hear ya Mark: I also strive to make things like RJ and Colossol would but I always fall short.
as long as the amp is quiet I don't card what it looks like....
keep going Grandpa....
we should make a post of our work benches.... I think the more cluttered the better, easier to find stuff if its right there

There is an old post on work benches, might have to find that.
Re: Hot Rod Plexi 100w number four
Your workbench looks almost as messy and cluttered as mine--
But as long as I have my BFH close at hand I feel that I can fix anything
Fix or Flatten !!

Mark,
How many Marshall amps have you built? Great job on the build. Looks
Really nice.

Re: Hot Rod Plexi 100w number four
Thank you. I don't know really how many I have built I did have a list but damn the Mrs. is on my ass so back to being a carpenter, electrician, brick layer, plumber, etc.
I know the amps are passed from owner to owner around this town with very little maintenance needed on them. I fix any amp I build so the new owners have been smart enough to track me down.
I had one JTM45 black face plate stolen from a customer in Nashville area 1 1/2 years ago. I didn't take photos of the build but I'm sure I signed it because it was built for a member of the Waylon Jennings family.
Well enough rambling for one night.
I count 13 Marshalls
4 Hot Rod Plexi's
2 JTM45 KT66 heads
2 JCM800 50w combos
1 JCM800 50w head
1 Silver Jubilee head
1 Dumble/Plexi 50w head
1 18w tremolo head
1 18w JCM800 combo
Mark
Re: Hot Rod Plexi 100w number four
That's a hell of a collection of builds. Out of all of them what was the best sounding or had the most surprising tone upon startup?
Re: Hot Rod Plexi 100w number four
I would keep the Hot Rod Plexi every time, love the overdrive one gets.
