He restores old Juke Boxes

I buy most all my hammond transformers from this guy.
http://www.a1parts.com/transformers/Tub ... /index.htm

I have used the 1750N 50 watter 3.2K on other builds and it sounds great with 6v6 tubes, the overdrive sounds are nice and tight and bold.
It goes for $87 cdn.
Congrats on finishing your build. Would love to hear clips.

Cheers!

Thanks Guy. I have bought from them before as well. I was just looking there yesterday. There is also NEXGEN guitars that sell some Trannies and I have bought 3 Warehouse speakers from them
free shipping after 150 buck spent
Now I have to finesse the wife.
I might as well buy a PT suited for a 50 watt, seeing that my father in law gave me a 3.2k OT
I was hoping to get some stuff from RJ, that was the reason I mentioned about the low Canadian dollar
But Hammond iron is good too.

I agree Hammond Marshall transformers are just like the other Marshall transformer brands I buy Heyboer & Magnetic Components.

I haven't bought a Mercury transformer from a dealer only from friends. Many Mercury transformers were given to me but they are for Champ or SE stuff mostly which I will build some small Fender tweed combo type amps this winter.

Checking voltages and then will upload my voltage chart for the Merlin Ultra High Gain circuit into JCM800 power amp.

I will also get Steve Stine to make a video of both the Fowler HRP and this Merlin amp, mean while I uploaded a video of his playing. He is a great guitar player and teacher.

Yeah Steve is a gracious man, very soft spoken and kind.
He has a large guitar class for newbies plus private teaching and of course his on line teaching.

Steve bought a 50w Marshall JCM800 combo I built a few years back. He uses that amp live with Strymon Riverside distortion pedal.
He now has an Ox to try out with tube amps both live or recording.

Looking good Mark. I’m still digging mine. Besides the crazy gain on this thing, it sounds really sweet when you tames it down.
Thanks again for posting up the schematic and layout.

The layout/earthing on these amps is relatively critical, tacking the addition circuitry onto a stock Marshall is tough as the amp gets noise issues. This is how Tim Caswell did it, but I don't know how he got the amp to be stable.

What layout did you guys use to get the amp to run properly?
Yours Sincerely

Mark, I came up with my own layout and have built three 100w builds and four 50w builds.
Very stable amp but I use a 5751 V1 tube to keep the crazy gain down.

I continually change the board layout and on the next build I am changing where certain components are going to be placed on the board to shorten wiring.

My prototype HRP came in for checkup and mods.

removed Presence pot wire to impedance selector, added Depth pot on back side and wired it in. (tested)

Added foot switchable boost on back. (tested)

Good sounding amp for being a Ceriatone built Expression in former life, OT is wired at 5K2 right now.

The owner mounts this beast bare chassis on a rack shelf into rack cabinet.

Question for Mark
I've got a mojotone 2204 kit
That I was going to redo I don`t like there layout
But your build might be just the think.
What do you think.

I've build amps before
Jtm45 plus from Tubedepot
Trinity amps 18 watt plead
100 watt mv from Valvestorm / metropoulos kit.

Good candidate to build whatever you want with that Mojotone JCM800 2204 kit.

I have one of those kits right now for traditional build.

Plenty of room to punch or drill an additional 12AX7 tube socket hole.

I would make your own long board to place all the components on.

The transformers are the same ones I use in my Hot Rod Plexi 50w builds.

Just for size or space I use the smaller two bolt choke but this kit has all that extra space so no problem.

Been going back and forth with myself, owner and Peter Mather on cabinets for my 50W HRP with half power switch.

Finished half power switch install, cab arrived from Mather, drilled chassis bolt holes and sent amp home today.
