That OT is not suitable for a 6V6 pair, you need a much higher primary - more like 8k.

Correct.
I actually used the Classictone 8k JTM45 OT for my MC25, I alrrady had it spare.
It's worked out great for the 6V6 option.

Here's the 50w MCII.
Really happy with how it's turned out, sounds killer.
Into a 8ohm resistive load. Pushing out easily more than 60w!
Onto the second 50w build now...
