The 10hy was for the MC25..

That OT is not suitable for a 6V6 pair, you need a much higher primary - more like 8k.
I assumed it would need to be 6.6k minimum, but Classictone doesn't sell a sub 40w OT with M6 steel....at least not that I've found.

Correct.

I actually used the Classictone 8k JTM45 OT for my MC25, I alrrady had it spare.
It's worked out great for the 6V6 option.

Into a 8ohm resistive load. Pushing out easily more than 60w!
