DRAKE VS. DAGNALL OT?

What's the big deal about Drake vs. Dagnall-wound OTs? I understand the windings are the same, but the interleaving is different in the Dagnall for more low end, more gain when cranked. Is this true? What do you guys see in the field? Thanks!
