need help identifying OT wiring

I was wondering if anyone has actually seen this wiring color code, somewhere, and actually KNOWS, if I am correct or not.

marshall trannies have color codes

this is from a plexi 50, from some unknown maker and it h ad weird colored wiring.

SO, if anyone has actually seen this color code before, can YOU speak up.

I have ohmed it out, and have done the best I can.

The marking are noted on the original post and diagram

Those are the ONLY markings on the OT

as an added feature, all the wires come out one side ONLY, on the tranny.

Usually they come out both sides, primary and secondary

Normal wiring, as far as i can tell is primary: red/white/blue or brown

secondary black yellow green orange sometimes violet for 100v

note this is different, only 2 secondaries

black is not always ground

I have been tempted to laugh myself, yet I was sure someone was missing to my understanding of your problem. Still I'm not sure...

If I were you I'd try to measure the OT ratio - I think. I did this once - or at most twice - so I can't help you with this but you should be able to Google that by yourself.

Maybe a picture of the OT or a clear statement of what the wire colours are may help, too...

Yes I think the core of the problem is that we don't understand the problem and/or your question fully.

I read your first question basically as

"I don't understand what an apple looks like"

"shows picture of apple with no further detail"

Which is why I also laughed... "Why did you post the answer to what seems to be your question?"

yes, I know it has taps, and I know this was not the only marshall plexi 50 transformer with this particular color code built,
or someone lost money just having a one off built.


and I have no way of knowing if I have primary and secondary correct.

nor do I know if the secondary wiring is correct, since I have never seen a dual tap, instead of a milti-tap

it has 2 taps, instead of 3 (normal) for a selectible output impedance



I don't know how much plainer to make it


on that same amp (another discussion) the bias doesn't seem to want to work right

If I understand the question correctly, you have some kind of transformer with an unknown location of windings and an incomprehensible color marking.
I hope this technique will help you find the answer to this question:
First - use the multimetr and check the resistance and connection between the windings wires. The primary winding will always have a resistance much greater than the secondary winding. The central terminal of primary winding will have a resistance of almost half the total. Draw a preliminary diagram of the connection of wires inside the windings.
Then you will need to connect the primary winding to the 110V AC power supply (or 230V if you are in Europe). Use multimeter to measure the AC voltage at the terminals of the secondary winding and determine the sequence of outputs by its value. And by calculating the transformation coefficient from the primary to the secondary windings, you can calculate the load resistance.
And of course you should always observe all safety measures when working with AC voltage!!!
