Yeah, twisting heater wires together is a time waster for me. Once I figured out where hum comes from (ground scheme, PT vs OT orientation, poor lead dress), I realized heater dress matters much less.

Yeah, twisting heater wires together is a time waster for me. Once I figured out where hum comes from (ground scheme, PT vs OT orientation, poor lead dress), I realized heater dress matters much less.

I have done my heater wires this way as well on a few builds and no difference in noise.
I had a Dr Z Maz amp on the bench a while ago and the heaters were also done this way.

I saw you used those special preamp boards that you made with Lou on this build.
I have used them on several builds , one an Overdrive Special and one an Overdrive Reverb and they work great!

Yes those Noval sockets work great!
They are a time saver too.

I just bought a bunch from Lou to last me the year!
