As a matter of fact I have "stirred in some mushrooms" back in the 70's and those stirred in some nice colors but then the woods appeared to be completely ablaze all around us. Be prudent when and where you stir in some mushrooms - set, and setting.

Would you expect to have a "2-pole" Vox cut control if you used a dual ganged pot and 2 capacitors? One gange into a cap, then into the 2nds gange into another cap all in series.

I think that will still be a single pole filter.
The filter circuits would need to be in cascade to get 2 poles.
