I was just thinking about building a very low wattage amp for tube testing on the bench. Just wondered if anyone had some clues as to the circuit. Looks like a lot of fun.

Have not. But I always thought my 2-watt Black Buttes sounds like Plexis. Easy circuit, easy to mod.

If you have a Fender tube amp with a transformer to drive a reverb tank then you have a 1 watt class A amp right there!
Just hook up a 8 ohm speaker to the send RCA jack .
