Chassis anyone??

Post by Funkalicousgroove »

I just got word that these should be out of printing on friday. Once I have them in-hand I will register a fixed-price auction, and give the auction #.

I plan to begin the auction on Monday at 8 AM, and I ask that folks limit themselves to one chassis set each, if there are any left after the first day then feel free to buy as many as you like.

There were a few folks that were upset that they missed out the last time, if you were one of these people please send me a PM and I will make sure you get one this go around!

Thanks, it looks nice. I had been looking for it on your web site to no avail.

Can I ask some dumb questions about it?

First, since the boards are 'pre-drilled' is there a specific circuit that works best or that you recommend, or is it pretty generic, in that it will accomodate most of the popular circuits? (it doesn't say it comes with a schematic)

Second, is the layout based on a specific serial number or range of serial numbers. Like, would it be based on one of the later originals that had the "LED" style logo? Or is is closer to and '80's' amp?

The reason I am asking is that I am currently building an '80's' #124 style from a chassis I already had, and I was wondering how much different yours would be.

I am thinking it would be nice to have an early and late model set like this

Unfortunately there is no real ryme or reason to the dumble cosmetics.

I based my chassis on a 90's amp, so it has the overdrive section labeled "Drive" and "Volume" rather than using the "Content" or "Ratio" controls.

The boards are pretty universal, if you want an 80's just don't use the HRM board.

the major difference you'll see between this and #124:

My set includes the precision power supply as opposed to the more conventional PS seen in #124.

My chassis has an impedance selector instead of a 1/2 power switch.

The setup I sell is not a kit, it is just some parts to make life a little easier!
