Yes (break before make = non-shorting).
Thanks guys, you are a wealth of information.

Re: New ReleaSSSes
what does make before break mean?
Re: New ReleaSSSes
Does the next contact make connection before the previous one breaks connection , meaning no signal interruption, or ..... vica versa.Ang3lus wrote:what does make before break mean?

yes, so there isn't a time when nothing is connected.

Nice work on the rotary switches. That looks like the right one. Anyone source the inductor yet?
BTW, I noticed that the ceriatone and the Two Rock SSS' have a trimmer before the inductor. Is that to keep from overloading the inductor or is there another purpose for it? Any idea as to the right approach for setting it? I'm having fun looking over these newly available schematics, but, with my limited knowledge, I'm full of questions.

My guess is it's just an adjustable LR filtermhartman wrote:I noticed that the ceriatone and the Two Rock SSS' have a trimmer before the inductor. Is that to keep from overloading the inductor or is there another purpose for it?

AES Rotary Switches
I missed the first set of these when I looked, then posted only about the second. I used the part # PH-392 from the first group.
Re: New ReleaSSSes
The triad SP-117 inductor is .9H or .900uH

Would a 1H choke be too far off? Otherwise it may be a wind your own deal;

Edcor has very reasonable custom development fees esp. with a group buy of over 10 pieces (<10pc.=$40);

Re: New ReleaSSSes
can someone explain to me, please, the use of those feedback networks...sonically speaking...
Re: New ReleaSSSes
Thanks guys. I found a picture of the inductor used in a Sterling Signature. I'll post it when I get back to a computer. It's kind of fuzzy, but maybe it will help out.
Re: New ReleaSSSes
Here's the one on the Sterling Sig. Not a great pic, but it gives a hint.

Re: New ReleaSSSes
I used a Fasel yellow inductor. Measures between 0.6 and 0.7 H on my LCR meter, depending on the frequency used. (120Hz & 1 KHz)

Great idea David. I wonder what the Fasel Red inductor measures? It looks like Cinemag has some inductors that would come close as well:David Root wrote:I used a Fasel yellow inductor. Measures between 0.6 and 0.7 H on my LCR meter, depending on the frequency used. (120Hz & 1 KHz)

Also, they typically can do custom work pretty cheap.
Re: New ReleaSSSes
I have a few of extra 820mH Wilco inductors, seems like the value might be close. If anyone wants one, they can have it (I'll keep one for myself). PM me.
