I'll sell you some of this for 4 bucks. It's not the same stuff that was used in real wrecks but it's close. It's a bit thinner and is not long enough to make a real wreck board. It's only 8" long x 3.75" and like 1/16" thick but the hole pattern is the same.

I don't have anything tangible to sell, but would like some money, anyway, so I will sell over the counter, derivative financial instruments based on the market movement of the transformers and the wire snippets. PM me if you want in on the action!

Eh! You'd have a better chance of getting paid for color commentary!
"And up next on the auction block is an original factory Stancor box that once sheltered a mighty A-3801 of Trainwreck fame!!! Our experts have thoroughly examined both pieces of cardboard and believe they have found two small flecks of gray paint....We all know what that means! As the paint chips and original spec sheet have been sent to a lab for further testing, they can only be offered to the public at a later date and will NOT be included in this auction. As such, we're going to start the bidding on this box at a mere $75!!What say you, fellas? Let's hold those numbers up!"
For those that feel the urge to try an original Stancor there are three different A-3801's on Ebay tonight... starting at $400 and headed up from there. Are there any clones out there with the A-3801 that we have sound clips from?
Hey that is great... thanks for the link. Can you share more with us about the 2200pF parallel to the coupling cap? That sounds like a simple mod that would be nice to try. thanks again!
the 2nd .0022 across the .0022 coupling cap gives the sensation of added bottom end.... In mine - I installed a 3 way switch in between V1 and v2
I call it a voicing switch - in the middle position, the added cap is out of the circuit -
to the right, it adds a .0022, to the left it adds a .0047
the additional caps give the amp considerable more bottom end.
JM said that it actually prevents upper frequencies from passing, but you can truly hear a bottom boost when you engage the switch.
I like the .0022 on with hum buckers, - .0047 is great to put some bottom to a thin strat(especially if you are playing clean) -
i believe the 0022 is stock on Liverpools - but don't quote me on that.
i did it because i loved the thick sound of Ingrid on Dan Boul's video - - but then realized that he sounds like Dan Boul with any amp - not just the trainwreck - but i am glad I tried it... for those that think the Express is too bright, or mid rangy, this is an easy thing to try
