Re: Any interest in seeing some Dumble Tweed Deluxe photos?
I'm a newbie (very newbie) and have followed this site for a long time; finally built a 5E3 without much trouble and am watching this with great interest. I can't offer any insight~heck, I don't understand a lot of what's discussed~but because of the generosity of so many individuals involved here I finally took the plunge. Hopefully, this will be my next build. Think it's too much? Looking forward to hearing some audio clips.

Here's a drawn to scale eyelet board. Print at 100% and verify. Version 1.1 corrects the V2 plate values.

What is between the brass plate and volume/tone pots? What is spacing the pots so they extend into the chassis; so they're past the chassis "lip"?

Bluesy, probably star washers.

Thanks CW. Looking at it some more, the pot tabs seem to be bent almost 90 degrees. And thanks, rogb, for the layout. Wish I could contribute, at least a little bit, , on a knowledge scale of 1-10 I'm at a .02.
Are you guys using the brass plate? I didn't have one for a 5e3 build and it came out fine. What is/was it's purpose? Easy out of the chassis assembly?

Bluesy, Fender used the brass plate as a contact grounding buss for the pots. In this circuit, the grounded terminal on the pots is connected together by wires then to the chassis. Since Dumble used an original Fender Tweed amp for the build, he left the brass plate in. In my years of repairing vintage Fender amps I have found that corrosion on brass plate can impair the grounding of the pots and I have had to clean a lot of those brass plates. The wire ground buss over the top of the pots like with the Overdrive specials, or soldered to the back of the pots, or daisy chained together like this circuit are probably the better way to go. The brass plate does look cool. Edit, I forgot about the input jacks. They do use the brass plate as a grounding contact. The input jacks should share the same ground as the pots, so I guess in this case the brass plate should be there.

For those interested in the effect of the PI changes, I ran some simulations and found that D's version has about 2 dB less gain at 10 Hz and 1dB less gain from 200Hz on up so the BW is actually reduced a bit. The size of the cap in the LNFB controls that additional LF roll-off, and if I make it 100n it's -1 dB across the board. The trimmer of course allows balancing the outputs, which is a very useful feature.
