Hi, just found this site and have a few questions.
I want to build a JTM45 that uses the KT66's.
My questions are:
What is the marshall model number for this setup?
Where can I find a proper layout for this version.
(There seem to be 100's out there!)
If I go the kit route, who is closest to the original?
Thanks in advance

Re: JTM45 Build Questions
Here's a JTM45 from a guy who knows Marshalls.
What I'd do is compare this schematic with any kit, like Mojo etc..., you were thinking of and go component by component and see how close it comes to the original. You can always buy the correct parts to get what you want.

In theory, theory is the same as practice. In practice it's different.
Re: JTM45 Build Questions
The best kit is way to subjective to answer.
Mojotone's kit is a good kit but it is not for KT66 it uses EL34's with 3k4 OT.
Triodestore kit is good and is KT66.
Metro Amps used to have a kit but chassis/plates available from ValveStorm.
I use chassis/faceplates from Modulus Amps.
For the best clone you should source all parts yourself. Get correct PT/OT, brown board, expensive mustard caps, hard to find correct resistors, etc.

And if you enter JTM45 in search you will come up with many threads to read.

Re: JTM45 Build Questions
Here's one I did years back with parts from various sources. My first choice would be Valvestorm.

Re: JTM45 Build Questions
Here's mine I built this year with help from all here
I did stray from originality by adding a buffered zero loss FX loop in it. It's fully bypass able though.
I used various layouts for reference, Metro amps/Ceriatone etc etc got the parts from various UK suppliers. Transformers are built in Malta by an ex Dagnal guy.
It's an amazing amp paired with my celestion loaded 1965 4x10 marshal cab.
Its very loud however if you want to crank it!!!!!

Valvestorm JTM45
Here is my JTM45 Build from the Valvestorm Kit
I would suggest using it as well as Triode, it was a blast to build and is quite loud, but I love it.
