Used to be a joke about Bubbles.

But I think that was Bubbles the clown.

I'm not sure what to make of Gerald Weber. I've read one of his books and whilst he isn't big on theory he does teach a few 'rules of thumb' if you will that are good to get anybody into building/repairing guitar amps. Hes basically just telling you what he has learnt or found from experience over the years. Not sure about the coke thing but I guess its feasible.

JW is the fast food of tube amps, quick and easy info. He was helpful for me to "get into" tube amps, then find forums such as this and books for a more rounded education. His fast food approach made me hungry for more thorough info. It was his videos that got me into this obsession. I don't know about his drug habits or lack of, but he was a tube amp pusher for me!
The shock thing was definitely an attempt at "shock humor" IMO

He's fairly sharp and fairly weird; but nowhere near the ripoff f&&kup that Dan Torres is... Dan has ruined many a cool old amp and instructed a million newbies to ruin theirs while taking their $$ for crap mod kits...

There is another video of GW actually getting the crap shocked out of him, when he touches the B+ supply. In slow mo you can see the smoke coming from the point of contact.
