Satellite Barracuda finished

Post by Geeze »

My grandiose plan for replicating the Satellite name in .090 aluminum finally crashed and burned. I emailed Adam at Satellite and he graciously mailed me his nameplate at no charge. I had been concerned it would detract from the wood but it was the finishing touch.

Back to the dungeon, er, workshop.

You're assuming I know what the hell is going on.

Did you build the amp? What is a Barracuda? Why would you be building an amp with another guy's brand name? I this an insider thing?

I met Adam [Satellite Amps] at the Dallas amp show last spring and he sold me the Barracuda amp without a head shell. I built the cab - khaya & zebra wood - to match the 4x10 cab I built earlier this year. It's a JTM 45 style amp with KT66's.

Now I get it. There are many photos of the Satellite Barracuda available via Google:

Hi Mike,

I'm building a 2x12 thiele with maple and walnut to match a similar head shell I built for a Frenzel Super Deluxe. I just glued up the maple case last night. I post pics when I get a bit further along.

What are you working on?

There needs to be an amp somewhere in the picture!

This reminds me of my favorite 'you know you're old' birthday card -

Cover has a pic of three bodacious babes walking out of the surf, just busting out of their tiny bikinis. Caption reads 'You know you're old when you look at this scene and think...'

Inside - 'THEM DAMN BROADS ARE BLOCKING MY VIEW OF THE OCEAN!'
