Great idea Roberto.
Here's an amp I was in recently that sounded fantastic after a couple tweaks. Very thick, not 80's

This post should have been made a sticky post.
I had a crack at this earlier too.

Re: Marshall 1959/1987 and 2203/2204 mods
All the three mods above are rearrangments of the preamp, with slight variations of the power amp.
Basically because IMHO the poweramp is really good for any kind of preamp from rock up to... whatever. With high gain preamps it's needed a little more bottom on the poweramp to compensate the lack of bass in the preamp.
As for the three preamp mods, I've worked on both frequency, polarization adn voltages. For high gains I prefer higher voltages on the preamp, above 350 V, while for classic Marshall sound it's way better to stay below 280 V.

Cool thread, guys! +1 for sticky.
Interesting variations Roberto, and thanks for sharing. I'm gonna have to play with those. On a side note, I don't recall seeing a 300pf treble cap in one of these. Not quite as sharp as the typical 470p. I've currently got a 250p in that position and it's pretty nice.
Cheers,
- Bryce
