Two Rock Jet/Custom Reverb

Post by coltranemi2012 »

Hi, is true that these are based on the Dumble 102? If so how close are they to that amp? Are they based on the ODS at all? Also, I have the Jet 35 and it seems kinda muffly especially on the G and D strings. I know about the Reverse Speaker Polarity. I used Gibsons and a G1265 Creamback. Only way I seem to get what I want is to pull out the Treble and Deep Switch...is this normal? Thanks!

How about a few pics or a traced out schematic? Makes determining the lineage a lot easier...

The Custom Reverb V3 is basically a 183 ODS with reverb/loop. With a contour control in lieu of presence.

Didnt the 183 have El34? CR has 6L6 or is that just a technicality?

the original custom was a copy of kimocks 70's ODS... they changed the layout and added their effects loop, and said it was a tonal clone they did by ear... then they later added reverb and that started the different versions of the custom... 102 was the TS1 amp as far as I remember.. they copied the layout on that one for the first time...
