Tweed Deluxe combo cabinet
I'm planning a Tweed Deluxe style build. Does the original cabinet need improvement? It looks like the grille cloth gets sandwiched between the front facia and the speaker baffle assembly (I would prefer wood-against-wood), and is fastened only by four machine screws in the corners. Does this vintage cabinet suffer from rattles or poor conduction of speaker to cabinet?

Ttt
That way of construction is part of the tonal nature of that amp and all the tweed amps!

Google "floating baffle."
Re: Tweed Deluxe combo cabinet
My question was not about the floating baffle, which I like just fine. It's the fact that the grill cloth material gets sandwiched in there, lessening sympathetic mechanical transfer from baffle to the cabinet. Anyway, I bit the bullet and built it that way anyway!
