I'm no lawyer. I hire them when needed though, because law is complex and slippery, and mostly serves the person with the most money.
I build and repair tube amps. http://amps.monkeymatic.com
Re: Your Amp name badges (Bad Idea?)
I'm in WA state. I'm incorporated and carry a very large liability insurance policy.
The way my lawyer explained it to me...
If you look like a sole proprietor and act like a sole proprietor...when it comes to liability issues, you pretty much are a sole proprietor regardless of your registered entity. (If it looks like a duck and quacks like...).
He also told me years ago (and now I know from personal experience) you can sue anyone for anything. Are you prepared to deal with that expense?

So everything I've read about LLC's including this type of legal information: http://info.legalzoom.com/purpose-llc-3270.html are all made up? I'm pretty confused.

Badging for commercial purposes?
I am a bit sorry. I am afraid I both failed in explaining very well my point of view, and understanding yours.
Firstly, the laws in the socialist country I live in(*) might differ from yours. Secondly, my english writing might fail to closely match my ideas, but roughly :
- indeed, a disclaimer can't void anyone's rights, and the same applies to illegal contracts/conditions, BUT if someione signs that he is clever enough to operate safely an amp as an end user (*) THEN he can't be held totally innocent, especially when prosecuting you - I guess. At least this kind of counter-attack strategy would fairly suit the french "market"... I'm pretty sure (as far as I am only an amateur lawyer )
_
(*) maybe here lies the difference. I wrote about socialist country as a joke but in France, there is no such thing as your class actioins, and the "spirit of the law" still reflects that. So, maybe in the US, the customer should also be warned to exclusively operate the amp according to the instructions of any user manual, or...

Believe me or not, but I'm kind of like you. I do some advocating for myself(*), with (very) extremely little profit. This year only 50€ from the french gas company. Guess who has the most money?
You are right to hire a lawyer, because it is at least time consuming, liability insurances are a total requirement and the same applies to your business status(?) such as LLC, etc, but there is a difference between the "system" and the law. The law is here to protect the innocents and of course the judges might fail, but... I never surrender

(*) please note that I do not do that just for fun, but just to protect my own rights

How bout this? Sold not working - you fix/inspect. Who's liable then? Last person with the iron?
Re: Your Amp name badges (Bad Idea?)
I can imagine a few other possibilities, too, but all this does not sound very professional. I thought a disclaimer might have helped a few members of this forum in the amp business, but...
