Re: Tom Petty passed
As of 6:30 pm eastern time I heard two reports that Tom suffered a massive heart attack, but was not dead. Sad just the same, hope this is the case and he made it through.

So sad to hear! RIP Mr. Petty, all-American rocker. I love the work he did with the Wilbury's.
...And let's not forget to pray for Las Vegas!

Wow, can't believe it. He had apparently just finished what was supposed to be his final tour, too.
Re: Tom Petty confirmed in hospital
I'm so sad today.
This has been a bad year for me, with my two best friends and my father-in-law passing, and my mother-in-law is in intensive care.
And artists I've loved since my teens are dropping like flies.
I was lucky enough to see Tom Petty 4 or 5 times over the years, including way back around 1980 when we saw him in the lounge of the Holiday Inn at Jacksonville Beach.
For some reason, I Won't Back Down is stuck in my head.
Jeez, I'm not even 65 years old yet, and not emotionally ready for all this sorrow.
Sorry to go on and on...

Re: Tom Petty confirmed in hospital
Very sad news, many mainstream media are now reporting his passing:
http://www.cnn.com/2017/10/03/entertain ... index.html
https://www.nytimes.com/2017/10/03/arts ... -dead.html
http://www.npr.org/sections/thetwo-way/ ... dead-at-66
It was confusing because some did report it before he had passed, but from everything I've read as of late last night and this morning he's passed, he was on life support and they removed him from that, and there were many mixed reports on his status, it is now confirmed.
Very sad news indeed. One of my favorites was "Last dance with Mary Jane"
