I just traded my Monkeymatic Trinity #2 for a Carvin TL-60. Love it!

Strictly a hobbyist. Figured maple over Prima Vera which is a white mahogany that has some similarities in weight and tone to swamp ash (which I've used on other guitars).

Analine dye was used. Yellow, then amber, then red mahogany with deep red wine mixed in. It always looks quite faded and washed out until lacquered. The lacquer enriches and intensifies the color. I typically spray 21 coats and sand after every 7 coats. I've used Deft Clear Wood Finish on some and Minwax spray gloss lacquer on others which this one will have.

I use rags for the dye (not sprayed). I used Meguirs Ultimate (car) Polish to polish out the finish.

Very cool! 8) beautiful actually. I especially like the HSH body with the Tele headstock. Looks like a real rocker.

Finished guitar. VERY musical woody percussive tone. Super happy with it! I think this is a guitar, just cord, just amp type tone.

I had trouble getting a good photo of it as the top is so glossy it would get light reflections in it.

That is exactly my jam, man. Semi-hollow Tele-style, humbuckers, one volume, one tone, fixed bridge. Beautiful guitar!

I generally see it as a crime without a single in the bridge, but that middle tele could change my mind. Good work man!

Finished this one almost two years ago. All ash body, top & neck. I've seen ash (swamp) LP studios before, but not with an ash neck. Thought I'd try that and fit an ebony fretboard, and Stew Mac double action truss rod. Ash seems to be more sensitive to humidity changes than maple or mahogany. Black grainfiller, sealer and clear lacquer. Black binding w/all black hardware. I worked some weight relief into the body but it still weights around 10 lbs.

Originally had cream GFS crunchy rails. Way too hot. If you play in a band where the vocalist sounds like he is puking at volume 10 then these are your pickups. Swapped them out with Duncan hot rod set; still too hot (bridge) for me. Wound up with GFS Alnico II PAFish PUs. Pretty good pickups. Wired out of phase. Fun to play.

Hello --

Fine looking 335-style, which evidently you built?

Recent addition of a 1948 L-48. Came lightly electrified, with semi-permanently mounted DeArmond monkeystick wired to a volume pot on the pickguard and a jack on the side of the lower bout. Removed for the moment as repairs necessary to both the guitar and electronics.
