Went to the shop to do some work on a new build, powered up, turned on the scope n smoldering iron, and behold the terror that consumed me:
So yeah, I'm burning a shirt today.
Just the reflection of my red shirt, but my system went full on pants crapping mode. Slapping at switches, eyes bulging, etc.Had to burn a favorite shirt today

LOL. Seems like you might be burning some other garments as well...

OK! Added another bonehead troubleshooting question to my list, starting with, "Is it plugged in?"
"What color shirt are you wearing?"

LOL too fun!

That is funny, and yep, I've done this with a blue pullover on, thinking my new tubes were gassy...
But back to the KT66s (I think I see) there? Are the added silicon spacers really necessary? Also, have you or anyone ever run into a Marshall RI of the original 'China Hat' tube holders?

KT-88's actually.
Silicone necessary? Maybe not, but at 14 cents I soften the metal to glass contact, possibly avoiding vibration conducted from the spring loaded mechanical bond to the chassis. (the larger ring was for the larger shaped 88's and was replaced).

If they only made those silicone pads where they'd stay out.
