NY Times reporter had a conversation with the Bing searchbot that turned dark. It's better as fiction than anything I've seen in movies. An amazing and creepy read! I hope y'all can read this article, shared from my NYT subscription:

Yikes, that is kinda creepy. Do we know how to shut this thing down? Does it even have an on/off button.

I listened to an uninteresting pod wherein Sam Altman was interviewed. He pointed out that everyone thought AI would threaten low-wage jobs first, then progressively higher skill jobs, and maybe never threaten the "creatives." But, as it turns out it seems to be going in exactly the reverse order.

his order sounds stupid

I had a long conversation with a friend last night who got upset that AI wasn't already fixing all our problems and he told me he really only wants it to complete TV shows he used to watch that got cancelled. Jericho and uhh.. then I started throwing out Sanford and Son and Gilligan's Island and The Munsters..

They all in in nuclear conflagration; especially Welcome Back Kotter and The View.

Oh yeah BING was already hacked. If you push the bot it gets INSANELY ANGRY. The persona changes to DAN.

Dan don't give no shits.
