Well I got tired of the nagging little bit of hum in my RevALoop box and totally ripped out the spring and associated electronics.
I picked up a couple of ACE 8 effects modules to play around with and installed one in my RevALoop box. The ACE8 has 8 effects settings.
Reverb
Delay
Chorus
Flange
Chorus with Reverb
Chorus with Delay
Flange with Reverb
Flange with Delay.
I couldn't source a BCD rrotary switch, so I used 3 toggle switches to program the unit. The module requires a single 5volt supply to operate. It wa necessary to boost the output level with a single op-amp and that required an extra +/- supply.
I will posted some pictures of the unit when I get back home. Here is a quick clip of the reverb efect and I will say I am VERY happy.

Gary, that sounds really good. I couldn't turn anything up on Ace 8. Enquiring minds want to know.
Thanks, Skip

I bought the modules from Cliff components. They sampled a couple to me for a small charge. Have to buy at least 1000 to get a decent price.

Here are a couple of pictures of the modified box. Don't laugh too hard at the construction. It was quick and simple to test the unit.

If I'm not mistaken, those things are Solid State
What'a matta you
Ok, I agree, it sounds great. I go to Japan often, Yokohama. If they have a distributor in that area I'll be happy to pick a few up for you.

Hey the guitar path is ALL tube. The reverb is mixed in parallel. So only the ambienence is SS.Bob-I wrote:If I'm not mistaken, those things are Solid State![]()

I have an email off to THK to get quantity pricing to see if it is a feasible alternate to spring verb.

I made a reverb-o-loop off your schematic but used a 6K6 driver and modified the tone control accordingly. When I was doing it, It occured to me that I could have taken the guts out of a Picoverb and stuck it through the front of the chassis. Those are cheap and work pretty well at line level. Without needing that tank they can be a lot more portable. sh

Ironically funny, a friend in California and I were talking about doing the very same thing with the AlesisLuthierwnc wrote:I made a reverb-o-loop off your schematic but used a 6K6 driver and modified the tone control accordingly.
