My SSS completed!

Post by sergio »

I just completed my sss in #2 type circuit.

First impressions:

1)Great clean sound and a nice reverb. surely this is a totally different machine from an ODS.
2)For my taste the filter section takes away a bit of volume , need tweaks! ( I think to eliminate the 100k res in series to the coil).
3)with accent switch I can omitted the filter section ,so as to feel the difference.
4) I changed the Fet res. divider 220k/8.2k to 150K/9.1k because I had a low volume output.

Looks very, very good Sergio! Did you build to a schematic posted here? Are there any updates beyond the FET power supply divider that should be made?

Sergio,
I'm about to build an SSS with Classic tone stack, reverb.

Can I build it without the filters and still her the genuine SSS tone?

I used the #0002 schematic!

The Fet circuit works well with 150k/9.1k in my build, than , you can set the bias point with the source res.

I haven't got to try the amp well, but in my opinion, the section filters is quite important! I repeat, I do not know very well the SSS as sound.
With the filter section omitted , I can take a very midrange sound, I used 360pF in front treble potentiometer. sound like a MID-BOOST of an ODS!
