6112/6aq5 'wreck
I've had several PM requests for information about a hybrid that I put together a couple years ago. I thought I'd just post about it here in a thread.
This amp is based on the A4 version 'wreck schematic originally from the Blue Guitar collection. The PS was designed using PSUD, and has lower voltages to accomodate the 6112's and the 6AQ5's. The amp shows promise, but I never got far into the tweaking stage since other obligations and projects were at hand, and I've never returned to it.
The gain structure needs work, since the 6112 is electrically closer to a 12AT7 than it is to a 12AX7, but it still has some good tones to it.
Apologies to anyone who contacted me about this and never got a reply. I haven't been in this neck of the woods for awhile, and I've been pretty busy....it wasn't intentional.
Also, the 6112's were dropped lower to the mounting board after these pics were taken. The socket next the PT was put there in case I wanted to experiment with a tube rectifier, and the 9 pin socket by the 6AQ5's was intended for experimentation with a 12AU7 output. Never got to either of these yet.
Here's a few pics:

12AT7=6201
Either way I don't think I've seen a 12AT7 on stilts before!

Those aren't 12AT7's, they're 6112's, and they're not on stilts....these tubes have flying leads. The 6112 is very close tho the 12AT7 in terms of gain.
I edited the post to reflect the 6112's which are actually what are in the amp. I mistakenly said 6021 to begin with....too many numbers in my head!

I have plenty of 6AQ5/6005 and I may have a couple of 6112
