Post p.i tone controls

Post by islandamp »

Anyone ever tried or seen a schematic for post p.i or better yet post power amp tone controls. I would like to try to control the power amp tone on my next build if possible.

Some of the Vox 'Cut' controls qualify as post-PI tone controls.

Post Power Amp? You'd be looking at something like a http://www.tedweber.com/atten.htm Weber MASS attenuator followed by another power amp and speakers.

Hope this helps!

+1 on the Vox/Matchless cut. Especially handy on pentode front-ends or EL84 rigs.

As far as after the power stage, Larry Carlton mics his speaker into a mini-PA and adds effects for the front-of-house system.
