Why do I have to jumpstart it?

Post by andrew »

My amp works fine BUT if I put it on standby for a few seconds then take it off standby there is no sound until I jump the PI tube pins 8 and 7. Seconds later there is sound. Any ideas? Thanks!

Hey! I'ts a copy of a D'Lite 22. I discovered the fix while touching each preamp pin with a screwdriver and accidently touched both pin at once. Maybe I'll install a jumpstart switch on the front panel and call it a "post standby activinator".

Make sure you don't have any cold solder joints anywhere in the circuits leading to pins 6, 7 and 8. That just doesn't sound right!
