Laser Engraving
Greetings Lads and Lassies: It's been a long long time since I posted here. I've not been in a position to build anything and have been other interests taking up my time. Anyway, there was a time here when someone had access to a lazer printer and was making wooden faceplates for the trainwreck stuf...

Re: Looking for this amps builder
Yup. I built that sucker. It was a runaway for sure. Nice touch dumping all that gain with the megohm shunt to gnd. I built another one for a guy and subbed in a lower plate resistor on the clipper. It tamed it a bit but it needed more. The guy who commissioned the amp was really sold on the toroid ...

Re: YOU ALL NEED TO CALM DOWN!
I was a heavy smoker until I quit in 1986 - cold turkey. I was a real bastard for about three weeks but I haven't touched one since. I hate the smell of them, but about ten years ago I picked up premium cigars. No addiction with them and they're too damned expensive to smoke a lot of. I love the sm...

Really great Sepulchre. Is that your composition? Synths are such versatile but incomprehensible machines.

What sort of sound do stars make? Not the atomic fusion sound, but the sound the light makes as it travels through space. Rumbling as it's bent. Tinkling as it bounces through the particle bits. Singing as it goes. I wonder. I think it sounds like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MeUvwuaoaps

Re: Do we have any cigar smokers here?
I like a good CAO or a Los Blancos. Bassist friend of mine owns a tobacco shop here in Fylint maybe you've heard of it Paul's Pipe Shop. They have the world record for longest time smoking one bowl. Every time I go there its like a step back into 1920, it really hasn't changed at all. I love those ...

Re: Our Future
Way to much so called "settled" science" for me. All the way through the damn thing they would bend the data to fit the theory. Especially biological and genetic data. It's disappointing. Feynman would DEFINITELY not approve. I can't for the life of me figure out why any scientist would buy into a ...

Re: Copper River Salmon
I grew up in Alaska and we would take the long trip to Chitna to dip net for those Copper River Salmon. I love Salmon, Reds, Silvers, and especially Kings. I miss the big summer outdoor Salmon bakes. Kind of like BBQ in the south. My wife's uncle put 66lbs in the freezer from Chitna last year. As m...

Re: Do we have any cigar smokers here?
Near the Canadian border, on the Canadian side, there are always shops advertising Genuine Cuban cigars at discounted prices. Most "in the know" folks doubt it very much. Same goes with visiting Mexico. It's hard to tell what you're getting. I buy from Thompson's and you can be pretty sure of what t...

Not sure about the Fuente but that Padron is amazing. It's a treat. For an ordinary smoker, the Padron 2000 is just fine.RWood wrote:Arturo Fuente Hemmingway Signature Cameroon Perfecto or

Skiing on the edge of it.
A buddy of mine owns this hell-ski operation in Alaska. Or, his family does anyway. He works there half a year and hangs out in Tahoe the other half. Poor fucker. Anyway. They just did a project with High 5s foundation. Once you've broken your neck there is absolutely nothing left to worry about. Ri...

Re: Can't find my way home
I don't think I've read that book...... Steve's a songwriter and a half. I think I posted this in "What are you listening to right now" some while back. I go through periods when I have to watch it 50 times in a row or I'm just not gonna make it you know? The song has only gotten better through the ...
