Dumble preamp into Cab Simulator

I'd like to know if the Dumble HRM or ODS preamp alone would work in the studio into a pre filter rolling off above 7k or so and then into a digital cab simulator such as a POD XT with modeling OFF-just the different cabs and efx, or something like AMP FARM ,again the CABS ONLY no modeling.This may be a fetile way to achieve grat cranked tones without the volume for serious apartment recording and preproduction.Anyone care to try it with their Dumble and give a tone report on the results? Thanks.
