Ok so, travelling for work last week up near Troy, NY. Found two music stores up there worth hitting if you’re nearby. Collar City Guitars. One of the guys there named John builds fuzz pedals in the Fuzz Face style with some nice tweaks. You can get Germanium, Silicon or Hybrid point to ponit wired NPN so no trouble with your pedal power supply for $119. Yes you read that right. A great sounding point to point wired fuzz pedal that cleans up like a good fuzz face does for $119US. Highly recommended if you’re a Fuzz Face fan.
The other store has lots of cool vintage amps. Bring your checkbook if you still use one of those things. Its called Love of Fuzz. Oddly enough Collar City was a better store for fuzz pedals but both stores are cool and really close to each other.
I picked up a germanium fuzz from Collar City and I found a used Roger Mayer rocket ship Octavia in Orange not gray (it may be an axis Fuzz but sounds like an octavia) at Love of Fuzz.
