Re: New cab for a narrow panel chassis - !solution!
Nice cab. I use a lock miter all the time to build drawers.Provides alot of glue area.Makes a very strong joint.they can be a little fussy to get setup just right. I have some boards of different thicknesses with the lock miter joint already cut. Then all i have to do is adjust the fece and bit hiegh...

Does the heater winding have a center tap or 2 100ohm resistors going to ground?

Re: Wich 2xel84 2x12ax7 amp to build?
Well, you only save half a tube, so if you don't have another use for the triode, then might as well use it for the CF, otherwise, the Mosfet CF makes sense. . True but it would free up a triode for experimenting with.I hardly ever build anything to an exact schematic. I'm going with the IIb With a...

Re: Wich 2xel84 2x12ax7 amp to build?
hopefully this weekend I cna get the amp going.I'm planning on building a 2x12 closed back probaly with some alnico organ speakers and somehow mount this thing in a small head. I'm thinking in my mind that this simple little circuit should sound awesome with a rangemaster in front of it. I just want...

Re: Wich 2xel84 2x12ax7 amp to build?
a two bottle rocket, using a mosfet for the cathode follower. Good idea I'm not sure I could fit that in the chassis I have.I think I willstart using moset CF's on every build where it applies. With the cost of tubes and the real estate they take up it just doesn't make sense to use a tube for a CF

Re: Is my O.P. transformer fried
I'm no expert. But if I were Tim I would not fire that amp up again untill its hooked up to limiter.
IMO firing up and seeing if the fuse blows is not a very good way to trouble shoot.
IF YOU ARE GOING TO WORK ON AMPS AT ALL YOU NEED A CURRENT LIMITER.

Re: Wich 2xel84 2x12ax7 amp to build?
10thTx That looks cool I will probaly at least borrow th MV.I was under the impression that a LTP could provide more headroom than a cathodyne inverter.Of course theres a lot of other factors. But I was under the impression tha a cathodyne will clip before the LTP. Does anyone have any thoughts on ad...

Re: Is my O.P. transformer fried
If you aren't already using one already. You really shouldn't power up again without a current limiter.

Re: Wich 2xel84 2x12ax7 amp to build?
Thank you I will put that one in my files.I had read about using a mosfet for a CF .It makes since that it wouldn't really affect the town and it frees up a triode.Cool to see it implemented in a circuit.
Ha CF means something totally different at work
