On this page are a few of good guides:

The startup guide is good to follow for the first fire up to avoid burning up a transformer. There are also some debugging guides there.

Re: Express sighting
BTW, Does anyone know how to contact whoever runs the Trainwreck site. I tried to email them using the link on the site and got returned mail because their mailbox is full.
It would be nice to pass the info along to them for this amp, since it is not cataloged on the site.

BOM?
I've decided to put together a BOM for the Express in a format that can be uploaded to Mouser as a project file. I'm thinking of doing one for each schematic version, and one that would be a union of the various values on all schems as the "experimenters" version. We could put it in the files sectio...

Re: Thanks for the tips
paul, I have read you instructions several times and appreciate your having all that on your site. I'm not Paul, just someone who has learned a lot from his posts and the info on his site. I am starting with the P1, and it is a challenge for me as my ability to decode the jargon, understand the sch...

Re: Can someone compare relative difficulty of
One thing you should consider is your experience level. If you've never done any electronics before, maybe start with some pedals or the Ax84 P1, simply because you need to develop some soldering and troubleshooting skills. The main thing is that if you have problems with hum or squeal on a P1, you ...

Re: File Help
Yeah, mine has the original speaker. I don't think it sounds as good as plugging the head into a 2x12 closed-back cab I have loaded w/ G12H30s.
I've thought about using it as a donor. I may leave the chassis alone so I can return it to its original state in case they ever become popular again.

Re: File Help
How do you like yours? Mine seems to lack something, but I haven't got around to messing with it too much. It currently has Sovtek 5881 tubes in it, so I may try something else in there. Someone also suggested replacing the coupling caps, but I just hate working on PCBs. These don't carry a lot of v...

Re: Now you've done it!!!
Can you clarify where to DNLD the A1a schem and layout, etc? Thx steve Hi Steve, It is the first link in the Files forum under the subject "Schematics and Layouts", "Several interpretations of the Trainwreck Express from blueguitar.org " That PDF has around ten pages of schematics. If you go to the...

Re: File Help
I've tried it on Mac OS X with both the Safari and Firefox web browsers, and on WinXP Pro with both Firefox and Explorer. I just sent a screen dump to webmaster@maximoaudio.com. I'm wondering if it is because I jumped the gun and registered before you had everything ready and maybe some option you t...

Re: Derailment ?
I haven't built it, but I have read comments that deviations from the wreck topology (Gain->ToneStack->Gain->Gain->PI->Power) don't sound the same. The power section distorting first, followed by the PI is supposed to be part of the mojo. Of course I haven't built a wreck clone yet, so all I have is...

Yes, I looked for the attachment feature on both the Reply and New Topic pages, but I don't see it anywhere.
