I'm confused as to wether or not to add an artificial center tap to the SEL I'm going to build. Its not in the schematic, all I know is some voltage elevation thing by connecting the filament to one of the Kt88 pins?

Does it need an artificial center tap?

I've always found mallory and OD caps to be the best. In one of my amp builds, I used some generic caps for everything non-electrolytic and the amp would squeal and make horrible noises. Afterwards, I replaced them all with orange drops and mallories and the problems were almost totally gone.
